Unlike many professional teams, the Philadelphia Flyers have had the same name since they were founded in 1967. They are one of the expansion teams from the original expansion from six teams to twelve. The Flyers used to play their home games at the Spectrum Arena on Broad Street since their inception, which game the team their nickname, the Broad Street Bullies. They played in this arena until 1996 and then they moved to their new arena, the Wells Fargo Center, and they continue to play their home games there.
