They have won 16 NBA championships and in 2015, Forbes has said that the Lakers have an estimated value of $2.7 billion, making them the second most valuable franchise in the NBA. Some of the great players who have played for the Lakers include George Mikan, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Erving “Magic” Johnson, James Worthy, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. The Lakers also hold the record for the NBA’s longest winning streak, which is 33 straight games. This was accomplished during the 1971–72 season.
